print(“Hello, world!”) … a first blog post
I’m Mike – a technologist with over 10 years of network/IT experience. Like many network admin/engineers, jobs and company budgets have shaped me into a generalist. Throughout my career, I have always been fascinated by cybersecurity, and I’m looking to document my journey toward becoming a cybersecurity professional. This blog is centered around technology and cybersecurity, where I share insights, experiences, and discoveries from the dynamic world of IT and cybersecurity.
I’m passionate about technology and security but have found myself waiting for the timing to be right to join the ranks of cybersecurity professionals. What exactly am I waiting for, where do I start, and what separates me, a network engineer responsible for the security of systems and networks 24×7, from a cyber-analyst or engineer? Do I need a degree? Certification? A sign from the divine?
If you’re still here reading, I invite you to join me as I continue my journey as a technologist looking to specialize in cybersecurity. I hope to share with you my excitement about the possibilities that lie ahead. I’m committed to furthering my knowledge and expertise, exploring new challenges, and making meaningful contributions to the cybersecurity community. I’m also committed to being myself and sharing what I learn along the way. Hopefully, I can inspire you to follow your dreams and ideally help anyone waiting to jump into something to take that first step because there will always be more reasons not to start.
